About GeoPlanIT

Geography Planning Information Technology, not very clever for a title in the world of blogging I know, but you have to start somewhere and this is at the very least descriptive.

The intention of this blog is to discuss themes related to technology, geography and town planning. It’s a broad topic area I know but it should provide me with some material!

The blog will be a place where I find out useful information such as methods to make maps, or cool plugins for SketchUp that I like. Primarily it will be a resource for myself, but I would like it if others find it useful!

I am director of Garsdale Design Limited a small Architectural, Planning, Urban Design and Heritage consultancy based in Cumbria.

Hi, I am fairly new to working with GIS, but I am a GIS Applications Developer working in the energy industry. I found your blog and am very interested in the 3D simulations. Are you using all ESRI software? Thank you, Tanner
